Sahasratal Trek

Sahastra Tal Trek is a high-altitude journey into one of the quieter corners of the Garhwal Himalaya, beginning from Silla Village in Uttarkashi. The trail climbs through oak and rhododendron forests before opening into the vast alpine meadows of Papuda, Kushkaliyan and Kyarki Bugyal. The journey continues into high-altitude terrain towards Lamb Tal and eventually reaches Sahastra Tal at approximately 4,600 metres. From the lake, trekkers get expansive views towards Jaonli and the Gangotri ranges. The trek covers approximately 83 km over 9 days and includes an acclimatization-focused progression before the high-altitude lake day. Day 6 is the highlight and toughest day of the trek, with an early-morning ascent to Sahastra Tal followed by a descent to Pandav Sera. The route combines remote Himalayan landscapes, alpine meadows, forests, high-altitude lakes and village life around Silla. The standard departure includes Dehradun-to-Dehradun shared transport, accommodation, vegetarian meal
